61b) RARE LASSO LAZO WEDDING ROSARY in STERLING SILVER
- This is an heirloom quality wedding lasso or lazo made
of sterling silver, and marked 925. Used in countries with Spanish
influence, such as Mexico, the Philippines, and other Latin American
countries, the lasso or lazo is used during the marriage ceremony.
The lasso are two long rosaries that are joined, and each "rosary"
portion is placed around the neck of the couple as a symbol of unity
after they have exchanged their wedding vows. The lasso we offer
is made of huge sterling silver filigree beads, three filigree Center
Medals, and a huge Cross made of filigree with a handsome Christ.
This is made in the old Spanish Colonial style and is very difficult
to find. There is a lot of silver in this lasso, and weighs approx.
215 grams. Each bead measures 12mm; the Center Medals are 1 3/4
in diameter; the Cross measures 2 1/4 by 4 inches.
Measurements follow: Center Medal to the tip of the Cross is 13
inches; First Center Medal to the Second Center Medal is 9 inches;
