69) VINTAGE CHAPLET MADE OF 33 RED BEADS - We cannot identify this chaplet. Perhaps it is the Chaplet of the Holy Face, or the Blessed Sacrament Chaplet? It has a total of 33 beads, there are 6 sets of 5 in the necklace part, plus 3 more beads in the dangling part with the Cross. The necklace part measures 11 inches, and the dangling part is 3 inches. The red beads seem to be made of some kind of resin. $9.99 |

70) CLASSIC BROWN WOOD ROSARY WITH ST. FRANCIS OF ASSISI AND ST. CATHERINE OF SIENA- This rosary came from Italy, where Saints Catherine of Siena and Francis of Assisi are patron saints. The Center Medal shows the colored images of these two great saints. The necklace part of the rosary measures 27inches; the dangling part from the Center medal to the tip of the Cross is 6 inches. The oval beads are approx. 8mm large and each one has an interesting ridged pattern. The rosary weighs 20.5 grams. This is a nice sturdy brown wood rosary, great for daily use. The black wood rosary in #71 shows the image of St. Catherine, which is the reserve of the Center Medal of this rosary. $39

71) BLACK & WHITE ROSARY FROM JERUSALEM - We were told that this new rosary is made from volcanic beads, but I am not really sure what material its made of. The beads feel light and each bead is two-toned, looking like black over white, so the effect is gray in the middle with black in the ends of the beads. It is very interesting. Each bead measures approx. 8 mm. The necklace part of the rosary measures 31 inches; the dangling part from the Center medal to the tip of the Cross is 6 inches. The rosary weighs 25.8 grams. The Cross is also very interesting and picks up the black and white and gold colors of the rest of the rosary. This rosary is more handsome than the picture looks. $39

71aa) ANTIQUE 1750s FILIGREE ROSARY - "ROSENKRANZ"- This is a typical filigree rosary from Bavaria/Southern Germany. Called Rosenkranz, it was used from the 17th to 18th century. This is made of filigree silver work and the beads are faceted red glass beads, deep garnet in color. The red color is much nicer and richer in reality. The main filigree Cross has a ceramic image of the Crucified Christ, with a repair right across the thighs of Christ.. The back shows another cross-shaped ceramic. The main Cross measures 2 by 1 1/2 inches. There is a Credo Cross (to remind one to pray for Faith, Hope, and Charity), above the Main Cross, which measures 1 inch by 1 inch. The necklace part of the rosary measures 26 inches; the dangling part from the Center medal to the tip of the main Cross is 7 inches. Each bead measures approx. 8mm. The Pater Beads measure 10 mm and have very interesting filigree work. The ring used as a juncture is typical. The rosary weighs 53grams. This is a rare antique for the serious collector. $699
